In the montage when Charlie and Raymond enter Caesar's Palace, cranes at the construction site for The Mirage Resort can be seen in the background. At the time, The Mirage was a new concept in Las Vegas hotels, catering to families and non-gambling tourists as well as gamblers. It helped revive Las Vegas, which had been in decline since the early 1970s. Construction of The Mirage began in 1987 and when it opened in November 1989 it was the largest hotel in the world, with 3,044 rooms.
