Jean Simmons was shooting this movie around the same time she was playing Ophelia in Sir Laurence Olivier's Amleto (1948), which ended up getting her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. It was the first of many times she worked with Deborah Kerr with whom she became close friends.
