The first and only film directed by Harold Ramis to be rated PG by the MPAA. After directing edgy R rated comedies such as Caddyshack (1980) and National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) Ramis said he wanted to direct a movie with some slight edge to it but also one that would be overall suitable for family audiences. Thus he insisted for this film than any violence, sexual content, and profanity would all be very mild to secure a PG rating.
