In both the theatrical cut and the extended cut, Piter seems to display lustful feelings for Jessica but ultimately decides to have her executed with Paul by sending them out into the desert to be eaten by the Sandworms. In the original novel, Piter is given a choice by Baron Harkonnen to either rule Arrakis as the new governor or to have Jessica, and Piter reluctantly chooses Arrakis.
