Brian Tyler composed a new main theme for the Avengers for this sequel. However, the producers decided it wasn't strong enough and hired Danny Elfman to compose additional music, including a main theme that incorporates part of Alan Silvestri's music from the first movie. Despite of this, a subdued version of Tyler's rejected main theme can still be heard in the film, when the Avengers are in their Quinjet after the Hulkbuster fight.
