The third season has Kara discovering a religious cult founded in devotion to Supergirl, the Cult of Rao. This is taken from the Peter David run in which Supergirl (not a Kryptonian) was a heavenly being, the Earth-Born Angel of Fire, and became and object of a cult as well, the Church of Supergirl. In the Superman mythology, Rao is a word which it was used of several ways in the different ages of comic, referring mainly not only to the name of Krypton's sun but the deity that personifies it, besides to be usually invoked as exclamation by the own Superman (i.e. "'By Rao...", "Thank Rao by...", "Great Rao!", etc).
