Continues the theme in MCU movies of a mentor/parental figure being revealed as either the true villain or a morally compromised character : Obadiah Stane in Iron Man (2008), Alexander Pierce in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), The Ancient One in Doctor Strange (2016), T'Chaka in Black Panther (2018), Odin in Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Yon-Rogg (and possibly the Supreme Intelligence) in Captain Marvel (2019). Here not only does Quentin Beck turn out to be evil, but Tony Stark is shown to have questionable ethics.
