The orange dialed diver's watch that Matthew McConaughey wears in the movie is the iconic Doxa Sub 600T Professional automatic. It was a limited "Clive Cussler" edition watch and bears the serial number 490/3000 (only three thousand pieces were made). Clive Cussler himself is a Doxa watch enthusiast and in his novels, mentions his Dirk Pitt character as a wearer of orange dialed, Doxa timepieces.In the movie, the Doxa Sub 600T can be clearly seen on his wrist, when Dirk Pitt borrows Al's rifle scope to scout the desert horizon. However for scenes involving stunt work, Matthew McConaughey wore a fake, orange dialed prop watch instead of the real Doxa Sub 600T.
