Sweet Pete getting up after being arrested and shooting Chip and Dale could be a reference to Karl "reviving" at the end of Die Hard to shoot John McClane. Andy Samberg who plays Dale is a fan of the movie as always referencing it in episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
