In season three, episode sixteen, The Big Bang Theory: The Excelsior Acquisition (2010), Stan Lee is set to be at Stuart (Kevin Sussman)'s comic book store for an autograph signing, around the same time Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) are in traffic court. As Sheldon stands next to the judge at his stand, the name reads J. Kirby, a reference to Stan Lee's partner and co-creator of various Marvel characters, Jack Kirby.
