During the 2008 Presidential election season, TNT stopped re-running episodes of Law & Order that featured Fred Thompson as District Attorney Arthur Branch. Thompson was running for the Republican nomination for President, and due to federal election law, TNT would have been required to give other candidates equal air time. Thompson eventually dropped out of the race.
