The animation production for this film originally took place at Screen Animation Ireland Ltd., a short lived animation studio that was formed from the ashes of Sullivan Bluth Studios (which produced the original Charlie - Anche i cani vanno in Paradiso (1989) film) in Dublin, Ireland. However, Screen Animation Ireland swiftly shut down in October 1995 due to financial troubles, which led to the producers to outsource the production to several animation studios around the world in order to complete the deadline.
