Robert Bathurst who plays Lady Edith's love interest, Sir Anthony Strallan, is a descendant of Lady Margaret Pole, Countess of Salisbury, the daughter of Edward IV's brother, Prince George of Clarence. Laura Carmichael, who plays Lady Edith, would later play Margaret Pole in The Spanish Princess (2019).
