In the season five finale, The Big Bang Theory: The Countdown Reflection (2012), when Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) are getting married, during the wedding, Raj (Kunal Nayyar) talks without drinking any alcohol, even though Amy (Mayim Bialik), Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) are all there in the same place. He may have either taken some before the ceremony, or it may be an indication that his selective mutism is improving, which indeed completely resolves in the season 6 finale, The Big Bang Theory: The Bon Voyage Reaction (2013).
