The background to the opening credits to this movie was shot in Sedona, Arizona, the location for many Western movies in the '40s and '50s, such as L'ultima carovana (1956), Femmina folle (1945), and Gli indomabili dell'Arizona (1965). The scene was shot looking north from the village of Oak Creek to Bell Rock formation in the distance. The motel where Daniel and his mother stayed is still at the center of town at a major intersection called the "Y".
