After the crisis, President Kennedy commissioned a limited number of paperweights in commemoration of the event. They were small and rectangular with a wood base and a cast brass plate on top in the form of a calendar page for October, 1962. The dates spanning the crisis, October 16 through 28, were in bold type. They were given to a handful of the key players of the event.
