On January 15, 2019 the movie was announced to premiere on August 5th, 2022. On April 24th, 2020 Paramount delayed the 7th & 8th films due to COVID-19, the second release date for 8 was November 4th, 2022. On April 9th, 2021 Paramount delayed the seventh film to 2022, as a a result, the eighth film got a new release date of July 7th, 2023. On January 21st, 2022 the film was delayed a third time to June 28th, 2024.
