Something not as emphasized, but a notable feature of, Lucifer's power is that in addition to being able to draw out people's desires, he is able to compel them to be truthful about other things as well (e.g. getting a killer to self-incriminate, a paparazzo to explain past actions, Dan to admit responsibility for the dissolution of his marriage and career, etc.)Along with that, he is also able - when not distracted by external or internal crises - to tell the difference between lies, truths, and when someone is saying something that is true, but not the whole truth.
