Only 3 people have survived fighting against the Elder Wand. Albus Dumbledore, who was able to overpower the wand's owner Gellert Grindelwalt in 1945 and became its new owner. Tom Riddle/Voldemort, who stole the wand after he fought against Dumbledore and survived the battle, yet didn't succeed in defeating it, like Dumbledore did. Harry Potter, who survived a direct "Avada Kedavra" killing curse by Voldemort using the Elder Wand--perhaps because the Elder Wand answered to him or because Harry at the moment was a Horcrux, which can only be destroyed via extreme powerful magical abilities/spells or magical artifacts.
