In the film, Conan attacks Zingaran slavers. The Kingdom of Zingara is one of the main maritime powers featured in Conan's stories. The country is a fictionalized version of Spain, and its capital Kordava is based on the real-life city of Cordova. Robert E. Howard named the fictional country after an Italian term for "Gypsy woman".
