While most residential scenes were filmed out at the eastern end of the forty acres lot in Culver City, CA, where Andy's house sat next to the "Aunt Pittypat House" from Via col vento (1939) fame, there was a mystery location that no one in the show's fan base could identify. Used extensively for Thelma Lou's residence, as well as various other incidental homes for minor characters, it was in fact a group of three small bungalows across Lillian Way from Desilu Studios in Hollywood.
