Webby Vanderquack and Mrs. Beakley were overhauled from their 1987 versions to be stronger, more interesting characters. Matt Youngberg said they wanted better female characters in the reboot, so the characters were rewritten to have more personality, be bolder, more flawed, yet more complex. This was later done for both Mrs. Crackshell (now known as Officer Cabrera) and Gandra Dee for the same reason.
