Stanley Kubrick wanted Ennio Morricone as a composer for Arancia meccanica (1971), and even after Morricone accepted, Kubrick asked Sergio Leone (then at work on Giù la testa (1971)) if Morricone was available, to which Leone replied he was still needed - which was absolutely not true. The hospital scene with the babies, in which four gang men make "their business" while 'La gazza ladra' is sound, reminds Kubrick's movie.
