Toward the end of the movie, Diana discovers that her mother, the Amazon Queen Hippolyta, had concealed from her the fact that the god Zeus is her real father (a plot concept derived from the New 52 version of the character), making Ares her half-brother. However, in Classical Greek mythology (from which the Amazons and the gods Zeus and Ares all originate), Hippolyta was the daughter of Ares and therefore a granddaughter of Zeus.
