According to Sydney's 'Sun-Herald' newspaper, in an article published on 9th August 1981, ''to her consternation, Angela Punch-McGregor discovered that she had been nominated as Best Leading Actress for her role, which had been cut to ribbons in the editing room. This did not please her at all. The role, in her own words, was 'a bummer'. It lasted twenty seconds and not a word of dialogue was spoken after cuts had been made...One phone call...and the nomination bit the dust.'' The nomination was rescinded/revoked by the AFI (Australian Film Institute). In the end, it was just English actress Jenny Agutter from this film, who had acted in the more substantial part, who was nominated in this category. The movie also garnered AFI (Australian Film Institute) nominations in 1981 in three other categories, giving the movie 4 AFI Award nominations in total, but the film failed to win any of these.
