The Skipper's real name, Jonas Grumby, is mentioned in the first episode of season 1 called L'isola di Gilligan: Two on a Raft (1964), and in the second episode, "Home Sweet Hut" when reporting on the cast of the S.S. Minnow of which the search had been discontinued.
