Both Chiwetel Ejiofor and Lupita Nyong'o who star in this film both later voiced animals in Disney live action remakes by Jon Favreau. Nyong'o played Raksha in Il libro della giungla (2016) and Ejiofor played Scar in Il re Leone (2019).
