Darkwing Duck's character was loosely based on Batman and Zorro. Batman, because Darkwing is a hero who only comes out at night, and has Batman like gadgets, such as his grapple gun, motorcycle, and airplane. Zorro, because of his whole costume, the hat the cape and the mask, resemble Zorro's outfit.
