During production of this movie, Quino (creator of the Mafalda series) passed away on September 30th, 2020, of natural causes. When The Suicide Squad was released on HBO Max and movie theaters (on August 6th, 2021), tons of Spanish, Latin American, and especially Argentinian viewers on social media quickly took notice of the small Mafalda key chain hanging inside Milton's truck. They found the tiny Mafalda keychain to be very sweet tribute to Quino (especially since the movie was released almost a year after his passing).
