While the show gathered lots of critical acclaim throughout its run, it's infamous for its extremely toxic fandom, due to several incidents that went beyond the usual rude online comments. For example when McDonalds brought back Szechuan Sauce as a tongue-in-cheek tie in to the show, it sold out so fast that several fans all over the United States verbally and physically assaulted restaurant employees, when they were unable to get any of it.
