With his portrayal of President James Sawyer, multi talented, Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, became one of eight African Americans who have played the role of President of the United States, in a major film. The first being actor James Earl Jones in an early 1970's made for TV movie, The Man (1972). Jones was followed by Morgan Freeman, Terry Crews, Will Smith, Blair Underwood, Chris Rock and Danny Glover.
