This movie is a tribute to the British horror anthology films of the 60's and 70's, one of which is the original Tales From the Crypt, where this film gets its title. A running theme among these films would be that several people would find themselves trapped in a mysterious place from which the stories would be told, and then after the final story, it would be revealed that everyone was in fact already dead and in Hell.
