In the scene at Billy's apartment where both Axel and Billy sing the theme to The Dating Game (1965), the singing was improvised by Eddie Murphy and Judge Reinhold. The song was not composed for the show. It is actually Spanish Flea by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass. This title was an inference to the so-called aphrodisiac "spanish fly". It is about the fun side of feeling amorous, which made it ideal for the Dating Game.
