Gozu and Mezu, the ogres in hell, are based on two characters from the original Dragon Ball. Gozu, the large blue muscular ogre, is based on Man-Wolf's human form. Mezu, the glasses-wearing speedy ogre, is based on Shen (the human being whose body Kami borrowed at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament.)
