The legal aspects of the relationship between George (17) and Mandy (29) and the pregnancy of this latter are not discussed in season 5 because Texas is one of the American states where the legal age of consent (17 in Texas) is under the age of majority (18 in all North America, with exceptions in Alabama and Nebraska), so what they did was legal for Texas' laws.
