This film tells the Hamlet story from the viewpoint of a supporting character, in this case, Ophelia. Another production that did this was Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Tom Felton appeared in the Harry Potter films with Gary Oldman, who played Rosencrantz in that film, and with Helene Bonham Carter, who played Ophelia in Franco Zeffereli's 1990 film of Hamlet.
