Caesar asks Achillus if he was responsible for the assassination and beheading of Pompey, and he replied that Caesar should know him better than that. In fact, Achillus and two others indeed were responsible for the killing of Pompey. As shown in the film, Caesar was horrified by the head of Pompey. Although the film does not show this, when presented with Pompey's ring, Caesar wept.
