The film's poster and VHS cover art was designed by Universal Studios and originally planned on featuring a Graboid in full view. However Stampede Entertainment believed Tremors would be better received if audiences did not see the creatures until they were revealed to the characters in the film. Universal initially agreed, but later decided to show a closeup of a Graboid tentacle with sharp teeth.
