The NFL record for longest field goal at the time this film was made was 63 yards, so Gruff's kick would have set a league record at the time. The longest field goal record is now owned by Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens who kicked a 66 yard field in Week 3 of the 2021 season against the Detroit Lions.
