The newspaper that the CIA team was looking at was the "Evening Star," a popular Washington, DC afternoon daily that ceased publication in 1981. Two of the stories on the front page look like typical stories. The first, "National Faces Tieups: TWA, Eastern Idle." This refers to National Airport (now Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport) and two now-defunct airlines. The second was "4 Flee Blaze in Northwest." Here the reference to Northwest refers to the Northwest quadrant of the city.
