Donna Noble meeting River Song in Doctor Who: Silence in the Library (2008) foreshadowed River Song revealing to The Eleventh Doctor's companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams that she is their daughter Melody Pond at the end of Doctor Who: A Good Man Goes to War (2011). Both Catherine Tate and Karen Gillan are natural redheads and Donna Noble may had reminded River Song of her mother.
