The entire "Step Up" multi-media franchise created by Duane Adler (2006-2019) can be traced back to Alan Parker's 1980 film as it's source of inspiration; the very first 2006 film installment that introduced Channing Tatum to wider audiences was photographed by "Fame's" original cinematographer Michael Seresin, who collaborated with Alan Parker on many of his other films.
