As soon as the movie was greenlit, Sir Ridley Scott set up an office next to the production design team. Being a storyboard artist himself, Scott made many drawings (nicknamed "Ridleygrams") that he sent over to the designers, and the conveniently close proximity to the team meant that there was a constant exchange of ideas, whereby Scott could quickly discuss and approve their designs.
