Before the film received an official western release and proper subtitle translation, bootleg versions existed with misleading and inaccurate subtitles. An example of this occurs when Tako is watching the TV program Miracle Series. In the original Japanese audio, the dialogue is about melting ice caps whereas the bootleg subtitles incorrectly refers to amino acids.
