Giancarlo Esposito previously appeared in the film L'ultima vacanza (2006), in which Queen Latifah plays a role originally played by Alec Guinness, the original Obi-Wan Kenobi. That film also featured Gérard Depardieu, who had appeared in Hamlet (1996) with Star Wars: Episodio I - La minaccia fantasma (1999) cast member Brian Blessed, and featured Robin Williams as Osric, a character previously played by both Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing.
