Director Roger Allers, animators Fergal Reilly (O'Toole) and Joe Ranft, and Jon Favreau (Reilly), each worked on an incarnation of The Lion King (1994). Allers directed the original 1994 animated movie, Reilly and Ranft served as story artists and animators, while Favreau directed the live-action remake.
