On AMC+, season one, episode five, "A Vile Hunger for Your Hammering Heart" was briefly removed due to many complaints from viewers. At the end of the episode, there was a sequence where Lestat ended up brutally beating Louis due to the mere mention of Louis leaving him, and Claudia was trying in vain to stop Lestat from further assaulting Louis. Many viewers were left extremely disturbed, emotionally distressed, and traumatized due to the episode's intense depiction of domestic violence. After about an hour, the episode was put back up on the streaming service. Sam Reid previously warned the showrunners to put trigger warnings on the episodes due to the depictions of dark and real-life subject matters. The show's episodes air on the AMC+ streaming service a week before they air on the AMC channel. When the show aired on AMC, trigger warnings were put up.
