Misty, Mallow, Lillie and Iris are Ash's only female traveling friends to not own a starter Pokémon. Although Misty did battle Ash for ownership of Totodile in Pokémon: Whose Is the Waninoko!? Satoshi vs Kasumi! (2000), she lost.
