Several of Stephen King's other novels are connected to the Dark Tower series, and some of them have been adapted into films. They have all featured actors from the various Star Trek series. The earliest novel with such a connection was Salem's Lot. The first TV adaptation of Le notti di Salem (1979) featured Julie Cobb, who appeared in Star Trek: By Any Other Name (1968). The remake Salem's Lot (2004) featured Cobb's former husband, James Cromwell, who played the crossover character Father Callahan, and had appeared in Primo contatto (1996) (and a few other Trek productions). L'ombra dello scorpione (1994) featured Ray Walston, who appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation: The First Duty (1992), Star Trek: Voyager: In the Flesh (1998), and Star Trek: Voyager: The Fight (1999); and Miguel Ferrer, who appeared in Star Trek III - Alla ricerca di Spock (1984). Cuori in Atlantide (2001) featured Anton Yelchin, whose final film role was in Star Trek: Beyond (2016), opposite Idris Elba.
