When Gary sees a terror dog in Walmart, it is eating from a large bag of dogfood. He later is taken over by it. In the original movie, Vince is attacked by a terror dog in front of a restaurant and tries to quell it by saying, "Nice doggie. Maybe I got a Milkbone for you", and then later is taken over by it.
